to kick the transfer label into being, here is a release consisting of 4 tracks by various artists, varying from merely trance-influenced sounds to deep down psy madness. for starters, vibenation brings us "the fall of arabia". in fact it's hardly trance, maybe not trance at all, but it bears influences from progressive and the harder stuff vibe has been doing in the past. also features nice arabic vocals. in all, a gentle opener to this release. second, we have the more to-the-point...

with this here flw003, not only does subco bring you yet another mixed ep, it's also the longest title of a release ever (so long, in fact, that the database had to be tweaked to accomodate it). "easily embarrassed" is the name given to this new project, and it's the joint effort of nick van der schilden and peter spaargaren (known for their plantbane project), in conjunction with nick's brother, jeffrey van der schilden, a.k.a. nekativ of dream wave project and trance-o-mania fame....

as you may well know by now, forcesupreme has become quite an accomplished producer in a short time, and practically right after his previous release here on subco, which dates way back to early last year. honestly, we almost didn't expect another sublogic release from him after he got signed on x-trax. luckily for us, and of course, you as well, the truth is very different. forcesupreme returns with the stylewar ep. originally consisting of four tracks, with this release peter shows off his...

the second instalment on the flow sublabel is brought to us by our very own yasahi. an ep release in one piece, in this case, comprising 5 tracks (or perhaps "movements" is a better word for it) which flow gently into one another and form a unity. you'd have to listen intently and pay attention to truly notice the transitions. the first and last parts are (how logically) entitled "departure" and "return". in between them is a 17-minute long journey through the...

after a 1.5 year-long hiatus, sublogic returns to bring you one of its most experimental releases so far. no manner of comparison can truly be made, but this one manages to supersede 2GI's release in all it's oddness. so are the works of richard sudney a.k.a. monopole. his procedure for musical creation involves such diverse elements as recording sounds in the field on the slightly frayed edges of civilization, manipulation of micro-samples, and abusing ancient equipment not originally intended...

the third instalment on routine comes from our finnish friend jani rantanen a.k.a. outgate, who returns after a break with more machinated techno material in a style similar to that of his rtn001 contribution "take me back". like said track, the musics on this ep revolve around a similar theme: start with a plain beat, break it down, add wondrous little sounds, make a lot of promises, and cut right back to the plain beat. in spite of what you may be thinking: it works wonders in...

as you may or may not know, "prkl" is a shorthand for "perkele". and as you may or may not know, "perkele" is a finnish cussword - according to fins, the most powerful curse known in any language. obviously, most fins don't speak dutch. then again, the dutch take on cursing in the worst possible way is to verbally chuck diseases around, whereas "perkele" may mean "god damn", "devil" or anything in between. it's just a different...

sublogic is proud to present to you an 11-track ambient lp, guestreleased by arjen schumacher a.k.a. hardmoon. we can only guess how his artist handle relates to the music he makes, but there are some things that we do know - some history and facts: when arjen heard autobahn from kraftwerk back in the 70's, he was immediately hooked onto electronic music. in the late 80's he started composing his own electro-tracks using obarski's soundtracker on the amiga. after some years he made the switch...

it would seem jani rantanen is on a productive roll. under his outgate pseudonym, he treated us to the machinae ep back in january, and now he returns with more -though altogether different- intricate tech sounds. routine number five is called the mute city ep, and it's a mixed release in a fashion much like yasahi's when earth fell on the moon ep (flw002). having described the whole as "a deep, ambient like dip into tech land", jani starts off at "central" with clicks, pads...

it's been over a year since jorn-c first (and last) released something here - his debut, dust (SC00140). in the meantime he got busy making us some terrific dj sets, which can be found in the features section. however, he is now back with a new regular release, and a new kind of sound as well: one that blends techno with trance, apparently the way it was meant to be done. the con-fusion ep consists of two tracks. the a-side, con is a ruff, dark and effect-ridden trip through oblivious beats,...

at long last, the first flow release has arrived, and it's bound to give you music that doesn't have steady beats, but rather breaking ones or simply none at all. oh, and for all it's worth, and in spite of what may seem, the timing is as excellent as it could be. trust me on that. psync opens for FLW001, bringing (also at long last) the original version of "breek", of which a remix by his buddy subatomic vision can be found on the gated reality ep (SC00162). the differences between...

jerzz' new dimension ep is not for the faint of heart. our own techno mercenary is not afraid to scare, and does so in his very own way. indeed, new dimension ep will scare you in its blunt- and effectiveness. giving you no time to accomodate, it starts off with hard stomp (which does a pretty good job at describing itself). the terror-ish synth loops in the subtly named don't fuck my testikelz float on a thundering bass, with eerie sounds in the background. last track 1 does a more subtle job:...

again, a new name on this one. plantbane is the cooperative project of our very own saiko and void pointer, who has been around here somewhere for quite some time. as it is said, saiko always has large chunks of inspiration, but also, often has trouble finishing tracks. working together with void pointer apparently negates this predicament, and evidently results in nice packets of musical delight, the first of which is standing right in front of you. this is the debut release of forcesupreme on sublogic. his 3-track techno ep is not for the faint of heart, and delivers you with over 15 minutes of uncompromising loudness. although monotone as techno ought to be, the detail is quite large and you can hear the effort put in. the first track fishtank welcomes us into techno hell and sets the mood for the rest of the ep. pump is a hypnotizing trip with very nice edges and effects, but nonetheless a very rough experience. killer-track strangler...

one year, eight months and 21 days. this is by far the longest musical break anyone ever had on sublogic, and it ends right here and right now. saiko has returned, at long last. and if it weren't for the technically improved sound, it would be like he had never been gone - his personal, recognizable style within goa is still the same. and we like it that way, too. as for the sudden revival of inspiration, saiko's own description should put an end to all questions: "this track is based on...

after a long pause, uri returns with more genuine oldfashioned jungle music. his formula has remained the same! it maybe be a very old-school track, but it may indeed be described as "proper jungle": laidback, but also a little anxious. some pads roll around, and even a tiny bit of piano as a surprise at the end, but most of it is drums, drums, and more drums. expect no less. the second release for the routine sublabel features 4 hard-kicking acidish techno tracks, all produced by cadra. 23 minutes of madness follow. starting off on the a-side, "we've got forever" takes a wobbling acid loop with a pounding beat as a start and slowly builds up tension. cadra's put the compressor to good work, judging by the pounding feel of the bassdrum. the first half of the track is the warming up, after that we're in for some aggressive action, as the wobbling acid loop...

finnish artist psylocke appears to be full of surprises. whereas his last release, butterfly, reassured us that he is a master of the finnish techno style, he now returns when least suspected with altogether different material. piha is a laidback and melodic track full of choiry pads, sweet synths and piano. for almost 7 minutes, it takes you on a journey to uncharted territory. listen to relax! (by the way "piha" is the finnish word for courtyard.)

a hardstep drum 'n' bass experience by uri. as the beats flow by, prepare to be swept off the ground by devastating basslines and groundbreaking acid lines. a high-quality stomper, that's for sure...

not many people probably saw this coming. our resident techno boundary explorer jerzz empties his pockets - which were apparently deeper than previously thought - and out falls a new ep. triphop. that's right. it's (at the very least) as off-stream as the "jerzzno" we've become used to by now, only it's a completely different style. ...then again, there was this bonus track on the weird twists of the mind lp (SC00146). anyway, check this out.

cadra's first 3-track ep on sublogic corporation is an acid-driven run through bouncy beatscapes, stroboscopic rave melodies and breakbeat-infested grooves. the first track, "gateway", is a remarkably sterile acid-rave track. nice, clean, just the way it was meant. track #2 ("forlorn") gets a little rougher: the beat is more distorted, the overall sound is harder, and the tracks evolves into an almost infernal climax of breakbeats, acid and a demolishing bassdrum... after...

raastin has returned. those who can remember this track's predecessor, second chapter (SC00119), know what that means: postapocalyptic industrial techno from finland. in the 18 months since their debut, raastin collaborators psylocke and outgate have been going their own ways mostly, but now it seems their joint project is back where it belongs. and whatever these two men have been doing while going separate ways, it seems to have thoroughly improved their skills. let it be heard, and let it be...

sounding both smooth and professional, as well as detailed and funky, this track combines sonicasy's talent for lounginess and chillout vibes with what sounds most like clubtrance. the track has one funky bassline, and several well-made piano riffs and rolls, that are weaved intricately into nearly 8 minutes of ongoing 'vibe'. the result is the best of both worlds in one track, definitely worth hearing more than once.

hey there, more music again - we just don't know how to stop. this time we bring you a guestrelease by thomas krupers a.k.a. signifance; another promising dutch bloke, who is in fact quite new to the whole music-making-ordeal. however, as if by some magical power, his productions don't sound like a rookie's work. oh, on the contrary. massive sized is a seriously pounding techtrance track, that is pretty darn fresh of style, sounds great and could easily fill dancefloors. tights beats, raw...

finnish antti lampinen, known to us as psylocke, returns with two new tracks and one new project name - moonstruck - which he will apparently continue to use henceforth. the music is of the housey kind, though similarities with previous releases shimmer through all over the place: bits of the creativity that spawned butterfly and metropoli are obviously in there. the a-side, drive is more progressive of nature and pretty laidback, yet maintaining a sharp, techy edge. bodyshock shows the use of...

cadra's new "needin' no more" consists of 2 tracks: the first being what it's about essentially, and the second being a weird breakbeat experiment. the main piece is a downbeat acid lounge track, complete with eerie strings and tight bass. the 303 is the main attraction here, as it goes from nice round bass to screeching mayhem. the end of the track is also very neat! "forget it" is a bonus track, filled with strange breakbeat madness: overdrive, parametric eq shifts, you...

this track shows outgate sliding slowly from the melodic side of trance styles to the progressive. building the entire track up gradually, the river of bass from whence everything else seems to come rolls on without stopping. the melodies touch the true meaning of 'trance', being calm, yet fast and of the progressive nature. this track will surely have you in a trance before you know it.

uri is back, and doing what he's best at. this tracks starts out sounding more like lounge than drum&bass, with the slightly eerie-sounding stringchords and slow rhythm. this quickly changes, however, when a bass riff comes in, bringing the funky drums along. the nice filtering work further complements the chaos in this short yet funky and somewhat dark track.
